Links and Inspiration Vol. 5
Welcome to the 5th edition of Links and Inspiration from around the web! I hope you will enjoy learning about these artists as much as I have. Scroll down for more info and links, and please check out more of their work if you are interested!
1 - I love these ceramic soap dishes made by Hadiya Williams of Black Pepper Paperie Co. based in Washington D.C. Her ceramic forms and designs are so perfectly organic and modern all at the same time. As she describes it, Hadiya’s aesthetic is “a combination of ancient West African art, modern western design, and ancestral memory.” Find her website here and more of the soap dishes here.
2 - How beautiful is this print from Dutch printmaker Sofie van Schadewijk!? I absolutely love all the little details. You can find more of her work here on her website and you can even buy the print there! It’s called Sunrise.
3 - I saw Melbourne based artist Kayleigh Heydon’s art for the first time last year over at The Design Files. I was immediately drawn to her use of beautiful color and texture to create such striking forms in her paintings. You can find this print and more of her work on her website!
4 - I absolutely love this modern tapestry from Conejo + Co., a California based studio founded by Molly Millar Dodge. Their tapestries feature beautiful geometric designs handpainted in acrylic on linen. Have a look at the Conejo + Co. website for more designs and you can purchase the tapestry pictured here.
5 - When I first saw US based ceramic artist KellyJean Ohl’s work on Instagram last summer I was completely mesmerised by her beautifully detailed pieces. Visit her shop to find beautiful objects and decor and more installations like this one!
